WILD AND FREE LOUNGE PANTS
Its been a while, I know. I have been sewing quite a lot... but it has proving to be really difficult to take photos, whether the weather is not cooperating or the model is not the mood... and by "model" I mean not only Teresa but also me. Hope the weather gets better soon so that I can take photos of all I have been making.
That said, I was once again very lucky to be chosen by Olga (Coffee and Thread) to test her new pattern: the Wild and Free Lounge Pants.
I saw the version that she made for one of her daughters a few months ago and I immediately fell in love with them. The design is so so clever.
Last winter all cool kids were wearing these cute socks with faces of animal, being the most popular the fox socks. My kids have those socks and they love them. So, when I showed this pattern to my daughter she immediately said: YES, I WANT THESE!!
So, I am sure these pattern will be a hit! Aside from being very cute, the pattern is also very well drafted, as all of Olga's patterns.
The pattern comes with sizes 9/12 months through 12 years and with two views. In view A, you can choose to add the animals faces (kitty, puppy, bear, mouse and fox) and in View B, you can use knee patches, with a heart, a star, a lighting bolt, etc.). The possibilities are endless. I also love the pockets, which you cannot easily find in leggings patterns... ;-)
Another very cool feature is that the face of the animal is actually painted in the fabric using a stencil. This was the first time that I painted fabric and it so easy and cool to do. I already used Olga's instructions to make other stencils. :-)
I made a size 7 for my almost 7 years-old and the fit is great!
The fabric is a jersey knit from Joann's and for the Kitty's ears I used some Liberty in pink.
The pattern is on sale for only $5.00 through Thursday, April 28. So just grab your copy here!

THE ELEENA DRESS
I was so thrilled to be able to test Coffee and Thread’s new pattern: the Eleena Dress. I love Olga’s designs! I made the Mulberry tunic a zillion times (you can see some versions here, here and here) and it is still one of my favorite patterns ever. So, when Olga invited the testers to join the tour, I couldn't say no.
Olga’s patterns are very clever and beautifully made.
It is such a pleasure to use a pattern where everything matches perfectly.
The Eleena dress is a 1960’s inspired dress that
features an inverted pleat in the front...
... and an invisible zipper in the back.
There are three
sleeve options to choose from: short sleeve, long sleeves with cuffs and
flutter sleeves. The dress also comes with a very original collar.
In this version I went with a sleeveless version and no collar, which I also find adorable. I wanted to make a summer dress and I am really happy with the result.

The floral fabric is a cotton lawn (Kaufman London Calling Lawn Tight Floral Garden) bought here. The red fabric used for the front pleat and the lining is from Joann's.
The pattern is available in sizes 2 to 12.
I made size 8 for my tall 6 and 1/2 year-old and I think the fit is perfect.
The Eleena Dress pattern tour starts today and will go on until March 7. Here is the list of amazing bloggers that will be joining the tour. Be sure to check their versions.
